It had to be a big event.
There has been weeks, months, even years of speculation around the future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
His contract situation has been clear for all to see, with his current deal due to expire at the end of this season, meaning he could leave the Emirates on a free transfer.
But he has ended all that talk of leaving, and confirmed what everyone around Arsenal was thinking by signing a new three-year deal to stay in north London.
And it was a big social media event.
Arsenal went live on their official website and their Instagram page, with the live stream first showing a pen and paper and an hourglass - synonymous with Aubameyang's contract situation - on a desk in the dressing room.
Slowly new things were added to that, with the captain's armband and then the Black panther mask also appearing, before Aubameyang took the camera out onto the Emirates pitch to announce the news.
And after delivering his verdict on the new deal, there was only one man to call live on camera first - Gunners legend Ian Wright.
The former striker has been vocal in his support for Aubameyang and hoping for a new contract to be signed and he was clearly a very happy man when arriving on the live stream to speak to the Gabonese frontman.
Wright said: "My captain! My captain! I love you man. Can I just say, oh my god I love you man, can I just say, for you, for us, in a time when we need you most, when we have seen legends leave us, you are legendary status.
"I love you captain, I love you Auba."
