Ian Wright compares one aspect of I'm A Celebrity life to Arsene Wenger's Arsenal

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has compared the portions of food in the I'm A Celebrity camp to what he experienced after Arsene Wenger's arrival in North London.

The Gunners' second all-time scorer is spending time in the Australian jungle as part of ITV's latest series and has already left an impression on viewers with a range of entertaining comments.

After speaking about how he knew his wife was the one after she 'mugged him off so beautifully', Wright has now come out with another superb anecdote when discussing the food in the Australian wilderness.

Speaking about the food available to the stars in the jungle, which is usually a basic portion of rice and beans, the 56-year-old compared it to when Wenger introduced restrictions on what the Arsenal squad ate following his arrival in 1996.

"I don't think it's five days yet and I'm already doing the... I'm struggling with eating. When Arsene Wenger first came to Arsenal, we literally changed from eating what we wanted to literally bland, I'm talking bland, food - almost similar," he said on Wednesday night's show.

"It's almost taken me back to remembering how bland the food was."

Later in the episode, Wright was once again left complaining about the food after snapping at Irish comedian Andew Maxwell, insisting he didn't want any more crocodile in a foul-mouthed meltdown.

"There's nothing more frustrating than when you say no to something and someone continues to ask you. It's annoying," he concluded.
