Ian Watson's cryptic message after Aidan Sezer's Leeds Rhinos move

Huddersfield Giants head coach Ian Watson believes it was the right time for Aidan Sezer to leave the club for Leeds Rhinos.

Sezer, the Giants captain, will depart at the end of the season to take up a deal across West Yorkshire.

Watson has been vocal about his disappointment in losing Sam Wood and Darnell McIntosh, who are heading to Hull KR and Hull FC respectively.

But he was coyer on his thoughts relating to Sezer's exit, stating it was also in the best interests of the club.

"I think we had enough time with him," Watson said.

"It's right for Aidan to move on. Aidan has made his decision now. We spoke, myself and Aidan, six or seven weeks ago, about which way we wanted to go. Aidan has made his decision now and I think that's the best for him the best for us now.

"He won't be involved in certain types of meetings because he won't be with us next year. I just think for the group it's important we focus on what we have and not what's not here."

Huddersfield are already thought to have replaced their marquee halfback, with Tui Lolohea and Theo Fages set to join the club. Lee Gaskell is leaving for Wakefield Trinity.
