Ian Poveda slaps the seal of approval on his new Leeds United song for fans

Leeds United’s newest signing Ian Poveda looks to have given his seal of approval to already getting featured in a new chant, or rather a modification of an old favourite.

The winger, who completed his move from Manchester City earlier in the week, has been active on social media since his signing was announced, finding great amusement in the lengths Leeds fans go to stalk new recruits.

“The Journey Begins. Excited to have signed for @LUFC,” he posted on Twitter.

“Really can’t wait to get started & to play with this team! Thank you all for the messages. God, My family, I love you. Fans I got you #LetsWork”

Leeds fan Lewis Deighton originally tweeted the idea of modifying the Pablo Hernandez, Kiko Casilla chant to include Poveda’s name, given it has the right amount of syllables.

The infectious tune, which is one of the most frequently chanted in the stands at Elland Road, could soon have a new twist after Poveda himself liked and retweeted the idea to his 20,000-strong following on the social media platform.
