Leeds United ace Ian Poveda has lifted the lid on the feeling inside the dressing room following a dramatic 4-3 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday.
Making their return to the Premier League for the first time in 16 years, the Whites played out a thriller against the defending champions but ultimately came away empty-handed following Mohamed Salah's late penalty.
In the aftermath, Leeds have attracted a wealth of plaudits for their approach to the game and the style of play, with the general consensus being that survival should not be difficult to achieve.
However, Poveda has shared just how determined the squad is as the team was not happy with the final result despite their stellar performance.
"The lads were happy with how we performed but were disappointed with the loss. It was mixed feelings on the team bus," he said.
"Even though we performed really well, the lads didn't let that overtake our bad feeling of the result because ultimately the result is important.
"We played a good game but we didn't get the result, so we need to look at why we didn't get it and make changes and adjustments to make sure it doesn't happen again.
"[Marcelo Bielsa] said exactly that, he was telling us that we done well but we can't forget the fact that we lost, we've got to keep pushing, got to take the next step and make improvements.
"He's the kind of coach that is always helping us, always trying to make us better players. Ultimately, we are just grateful for that."
Leeds are back in Premier League action on Saturday against Fulham, the first Premier League match at Elland Road since 2004.
