Ian Poveda has hailed the signing of Diego Llorente by Leeds United and has been impressed by the Spain international this season.
The defender was among a number of eye-catching recruits made by Marcelo Bielsa's side in the summer ahead of the long-awaited return to the Premier League.
Llorente's involvement this season has so far been restricted by injury issues, which has limited him to just one Premier League appearance.
Pushing to make his return in the coming weeks, Llorente may be playing catch-up on his appearances but has made an impression behind the scenes.
Poveda is among those left impressed by the former Real Sociedad defender, as he backed the 27-year-old to become an integral asset for Leeds in the second half of the season.
“Everyone gets on with everyone. I’ll speak to them in Spanish or in English," he told BBC Radio Leeds.
“Diego (Llorente) has been settling in quite well, he’s been unlucky with the injuries but you can’t really predict that.
“But it’s good he’s a really good player and we’re excited by what he has to offer us. We know we trust in him, we know he has a lot to give us.”
The last update on Llorente came prior to the clash against Burnley, where it was revealed the defender has suffered a setback in his recovery.
It is hoped that Llorente can feature at some point this month given Leeds' current situation in defence. Liam Cooper is still recovering from an abdominal strain, while Robin Koch remains in recovery following knee surgery in the hope to be back on the pitch by Spring.
