Ian Poulter caught farting on live TV during PGA Tour event

Ian Poulter was caught farting on TV during the final round of the Travelers Championship.

And the Ryder Cup star asked the cameraman: “Did you get that?”

The world No.59 shot a closing 69 in Connecticut to finish 64th in the third event back on the PGA Tour after lockdown.

But his final round will be best remembered for letting rip on on the opening tee just after his playing partner Greg Chalmers had teed off.

As giggling broke out, the Aussie told him: “Stay over there. Is that supposed to be more silent than that?”

Poulter later tweeted: It was a little breezy first thing this morning.”

His Ryder Cup team-mate Lee Westwood responded: "Very solid Poults.”

Subtitles on the PGA Tour coverage had the word “fart”. Chalmers tweeted: “I like the (fart) in the closed caption. That really confirmed it for me.”

Poulter replied: “The best bit everyone thinks it was you.”

Poulter also tweeted: “3 club wind this morning on the first tee. Always beware of the live microphone.”

Andy Murray was caught swearing while coaching James Ward at the Battle of the Brits tennis event staged behind closed doors.

And Brooks Koepka was heard to say: “Pretty f****** good there” when his playing partner Jon Rahm chipped in for birdie at the Charles Schwab Challenge.

Some players have been wearing on-course microphones since the return of the PGA Tour but Koepka was against the idea. Speaking before dropping his F-bomb, the four-time Major winner said: “I don’t understand why they want us to wear a mic when there’s a boom mic that stands 10 feet away from every shot that I hit.

“If the announcers would just shut up and listen, you could hear every word that we’re talking about. I don’t understand what the thing is. Half the time the lady’s holding a boom mic, and she’s listening to everything we’re saying all the way down. If they would just shut up, they could hear everything.”
