Ian McCall has called a tweet by former club Ayr United 'classless' after they took aim at Partick Thistle defender Darren Brownlie.
The centre-back has just put a season's-worth of injury problems behind him and put a diving header into his own net during a 4-2 defeat for the Jags on Tuesday at Somerset Park. They return to Championship action today away at Raith Rovers but Firhill boss McCall has highlighted a post on Twitter by the side he used to manage ahead of it.
They posted the 28-year-old's OG with the caption 'What a header that was from Partick Thistle’s Brownlie into his own net!' It's prompted a fiery response, but Somerset Park boss Lee Bullen and his players have their Maryhill counterpart's full respect. McCall fumed: "There’s one or two of the players unhappy. I know Lee Bullen really well, he’s a fine man, and I would imagine he will know nothing about it, players will know nothing about it.

“He will find it as cringey as I find it as it’s made our club a little bit angry. You get that from fans – and our supporters would do the same.
"But it’s kind of classless and tinpot. You expect better, particularly of a boy who is trying to get his way back from a career-threatening injury.
"I know they were angry on Friday. It is kind of a diddy thing to do but I know Bully and it won’t be anything to do with him or the players. We’re not playing Ayr, so listen we should be motivated enough to go and have a right go against Raith Rovers.”
