Ayr United boss Ian McCall reckons the club's fans have been handed a dream tie after being paired with Wrexham in the Tunnock's Caramel Wafer Cup.
The boss said: "It's going to be one for the supporters to enjoy, that's for sure.
"It will be a great experience to go down there and Wrexham are a club with good pedigree.
"I well remember Micky Thomas scoring that famous goal for them against Arsenal 20-odd years ago.
"They'll have a good stadium and it we'll go down there and look to do ourselves proud."
United will travel south on the weekend of September 7-8 for the historic fixture.
And TV chiefs could be tempted to select the fixture for live coverage, set to be announced in the coming days.
