Ian Holloway yet to hear from Bristol Rovers over managerial vacancy

Ian Holloway says he has yet to hear from Bristol Rovers about the managerial vacancy at the Gas.

The Gas legend yesterday revealed that he would not be applying for the job, but would be open to speaking to Rovers should they get in contact with him.

Yet, on Talksport this morning , when asked if he had heard from the Gas yet, Holloway replied bluntly.

He said: "No."

Holloway is the popular choice among a large percentage of Rovers fans to be given the job, but he refused to be drawn on the issue - instead offering a tantalising hint of having spoken to the Gas in the past before being cut off by host Alan Brazil.

He said: "What do you think? The whole point is I can't say yes or no to anything, if I started saying I wanted the job, it would put so much pressure on those gentlemen."

Holloway was about to elaborate about talking to Rovers previously, saying: "I know they spoke to me before -"

Yet Brazil then shouted over him, cutting him off with: "Put pressure on them!

"This is your Christmas present, 'I want to be the manager!'"

Unfortunately, the talk then turned to weddings and Love Island, meaning Rovers supporters were left in the dark about when Holloway had last spoken to the club.
