Ian Holloway didn't hold back on his verdict of Granit Xhaka, describing him as 'an accident waiting to happen'.
The Arsenal skipper has come in for criticism after his display in the North London Derby where he gave away a penalty for a challenge on Son Heung-min and committed many needless fouls.
Speaking to TalkSPORT, Holloway said that he's a fan of Xhaka's ability to strike a ball, but struggles to see what he brings to Unai Emery's side.
He said: “I miss his set plays, obviously he was good at them.
“Some people are in a team for a certain [reason].
"Maybe he’s great in the dressing room, maybe he gets the lads going. But he just looks like an accident waiting to happen.
“That’s what I mean [Pepe is not on set pieces] so I don’t see what his… I don’t get it."
Ian Holloway went on to discuss Arsenal's summer transfer business and named the player who they should have been looking to sign.
He said: "Well for me I’m looking at what I think who is probably the signing of the season for Everton in Fabian Delph.
“If Arsenal had Fabian Delph playing the way he did yesterday for Everton, do you see what I’m saying?
“Because Delph read so many things yesterday and I don’t see Xhaka doing that.
“All Arsenal need is someone who can sit in front of that very beleaguered back four, maybe two of them, and let them go and attack, as long as you don’t get counter attacked.”
