Ian Holloway 'makes Kilmarnock job plea' as former Blackpool boss targets return to football

Ian Holloway has declared he wants the Kilmarnock manager's job as Steve Clarke's replacement.

The former Blackpool boss has been out of work since leaving QPR and he admits he'd jump at the chance of a move to Rugby Park.

Holloway, famous for his wacky behaviour on the sideline and his gung-ho tactics, has spoken of his wish to manage in Scotland, according to the Scottish Sun.

The 56-year-old has been out of the game for 12 months but he says he is a big fan of the work Clarke did during his time at Rugby Park.

He said: "I would be very interested in the Kilmarnock job. I'm looking to get back into the game and Scottish football is appealing for any manager.

"There are big clubs and a big managers and a lot of talented players. Just look at John McGinn. He has been fantastic for Aston Villa and was a player I was keen to take to QPR if I had stayed there.

"Without a shadow of doubt I'd be interested in Kilmarnock. Steve Clarke did a great job there and it's a really good club."

Holloway also managed Bristol Rovers, QPR, Plymouth, Leicester, Crystal Palace and Millwall during his 22 year managerial career so far.

Simon Grayson is the current bookies favourite for the job.
