Ian Evatt reflects on Bolton Wanderers transfer window so far and gives update on potential additions

Ian Evatt believes there still could be more additions to the Bolton Wanderers squad before the transfer window closes.

Wanderers have brought in 19 new players so far this summer, the latest pair in Lloyd Isgrove and Arthur Gnahoua joining before last weekend's match against Newport County.

Bolton head coach Evatt has crafted a new squad at the University of Bolton Stadium after large turnover of players.

The transfer window closes for international business on Monday, October 5, at 11pm.

There is then a two week domestic only window between Premier League and EFL clubs which will close 11 days later at 5pm on Friday, October 16.

And Evatt has not ruled out making further acquisitions to his Wanderers squad before the window closes.

Asked if there could be more additions, he said: "Yeah possibly. We’ve not done bad with recruitment, with 20 new ones, but we didn’t have much choice.

"At the start of the recruitment process, you’re obviously thinking we’re in a good position.

"However, because players early on in the window, some of the ones have unrealistic targets, some of them have unrealistic salary expectations, and so when you more on and go to other targets the players that you probably initially looked at then become available.

"It’s a tough one and we didn’t have any choice unfortunately. We needed players in the building because we had none.

"But we’re always looking to improve and if we can improve before the end of the window, we will do."
