Ian Evatt gives verdict on Josh Sheehan & Lloyd Isgrove's Bolton Wanderers injury return

Ian Evatt was pleased with what he saw from Josh Sheehan and Lloyd Isgrove as they made their long-awaited returns from injury for Bolton Wanderers.

The pair played for the Whites' B team yesterday against Fleetwood Town's U21's at the Cod Army's Poolfoot Farm training facility. Conor Carty found the back of the net in the closing stages to give Matt Craddock's side the winner.

Sheehan has been out of action since November due to a ruptured ACL, while Isgrove has been missing for a similar amount of time owing to hamstring problems. The pair were taken off following the hour mark after both returning and looked bright upon their returns to action.

It has been a long time coming for the pair on their roads to recovery from their respective injuries. A return to the first team is not expected to be too long away.

Bolton boss Evatt was at Poolfoot Farm to see the pair return to action and get some minutes under their belt. He was pleased with what he saw from the duo in the encounter.

Evatt said: “I thought they both did really well. Izzy looks like he’s really over that hamstring injury.

“When he came back last time and the recurrence, he didn’t look like he was moving as freely as what he is now.

“Josh, he’s a really talented player. He needs to not beat himself up that he’s not the Josh Sheehan right now that he was when he got injured, but he’s been out nine months and that’s the first game he’s played. The sharpness and the quality will return with time and games. But he’s going to be a really important player for us.

“I’m looking forward to it. I’ve got plenty of paracetamol, I’m ready for these headaches.”
