Ian Burchnall names Notts County team to face Wrexham as Magpies hit by absences

Notts County head coach Ian Burchnall made four changes to his side for the visit of promotion-chasing Wrexham at Meadow Lane.

Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson, who has returned to the club on loan, was thrust straight back into the starting line-up in pace of number one Sam Slocombe who was on the bench.

Connell Rawlinson, Connor Parsons and Ruben Rodrigues (suspended) were also missing from the squad altogether with Alex Lacey, Adam Chicksen and Ed Francis all coming into the 11.

Notts, who have had positive Covid cases in the camp, were also without Dion Kelly-Evans and Jim O'Brien meaning head coach Ian Burchnall could only name four subs on the bench.

As usual, Burchnall named a 3-5-2 formation with Patterson in goal behind the back three of Richard Brindley, Kyle Cameron and Alex Lacey.

Jayden Richardson and Chicksen were at wing-back with Francis, Frank Vincent and Matt Palmer in midfield.

Up front was Kyle Wootton and Kairo Mitchell.

On the bench for Notts were Callum Roberts, Eli Sam, Aaron Nemane and Slocombe.
