Ian Burchnall names Notts County team to face Woking

Notts County winger Callum Roberts was a notable absentee as Magpies head coach Ian Burchnall named his team to face Woking this afternoon.

The former Newcastle wideman came off the bench to play the last 15 minutes of the victory over Wrexham at the weekend following a long spell on the sidelines but didn't make the 16-man squad this afternoon.

Notts Live understands the winger's absence is the result of a mild reaction to his cameo appearance in Saturday's win and the Magpies are hopeful he will be involved to face Hartlepool next weekend.

Elsewhere, top scorer Kyle Wootton was also missing as he served a one-match ban after being sent off for two bookable offences against the Dragons.

But that did mean a start for Elisha Sam who was recalled to the squad after missing out altogether against Wrexham.

That was the only change made by head coach Burchnall who deployed a 3-5-2 formation with Sam Slocombe in goal behind the defence of Connell Rawlinson, Mark Ellis and Adam Chicksen.

Enzio Boldewijn and Jordan Barnett were given wing-back duties while Regan Griffiths, Jim O'Brien and Jake Reeves made up the rest of the midfield.

Up front, Jimmy Knowles partnered Sam.
