Ian Burchnall names Notts County team to face Altrincham

Notts County head coach Ian Burchnall made several changes to his starting 11 as the Magpies went in search of a much-needed win against Altrincham this afternoon.

Defender Richard Brindley came back into the side for his first start for several months after a groin problem as he replaced Dion Kelly-Evans.

At left wingback, Jordan Barnett was recalled at the expense of Adam Chicksen who dropped to the substitutes' bench.

In midfield Regan Griffiths was also dropped as Ruben Rodrigues was drafted in while Enzio Boldewijn also came back into the side as he replaced Lewis Knight.

The changes meant a slight alteration in formation with Notts expected to play 3-4-3 with Luke Steele in goal behind the back three of Mark Ellis, Connell Rawlinson and Ben Turner.

Brindley and Barnett were expected to supply the width while Michael Doyle and Jake Reeves were handed central midfield roles.

Up front there was a three-pronged attack with Kyle Wootton as the main centre forward with Rodrigues and Boldewijn either side of him.

Notts: Steele, Ellis, Rawlinson, Turner; Brindley, Doyle, Reeves, Barnett; Rodrigues, Wootton, Boldewijn.
