Ian Burchnall makes admission ahead of Woking trip to Meadow Lane

Notts County will be back in action as they welcome Woking to Meadow Lane on Saturday, October 2 (3pm kick-off).

The Magpies will be looking to bounce back from their first National League defeat to Altrincham last weekend.

Sitting in sixth after four wins, Notts will take on 13th placed Woking as they head into the encounter in high spirits, after a 3-1 home win over Chesterfield during midweek.

Head coach Ian Burchnall has previously watched Alan Dowson's side on two occasions and is therefore prepared for a tough contest.

In his pre-match press-conference, he told NottinghamshireLive: "They won 4-0 against Torquay away and Chesterfield away on Tuesday night, they put three past them. I've watched them in the game against Eastleigh and the game against Wrexham, they were very competitive away at Wrexham as well. They're very, very direct."

Woking's centre-forward Tahvon Campbell has scored six goals in his six appearances in the league this campaign.

"They've got Tahvon Campbell up front who's had a great season, who's mobile, who's dangerous, and they work unbelievably hard, every time they win the ball, they're full on into attacks and they press and they hunt.

"It's a team that I think that maybe got a good feeling within the group and they will, certainly after their midweek game against Chesterfield, they play forwards extremely quickly, we're going to have to win a lot of long balls and a lot of second balls and a lot of intensity.

"Hopefully we can take control of the game from there but they're showing they are a well drilled team and it's going to be a tough task."
