Ian Baraclough ready to 'make the call' in bid to tempt Ollie Norwood back

New Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough says he will try and tempt Ollie Norwood into an international return.

Norwood, 29, announced his retirement from international football last summer.

The midfielder has enjoyed an impressive season with Sheffield United who continue to fly high in the Premier League.

Any return to the Northern Ireland fold would be a significant coup for Baraclough.

"It would be wrong of me not to make the phone call," the new manager told Sky Sports.

"Ollie had a big impact while he was in the group. He made the decision and I wasn't party to that conversation so don't know the reasons.

"Hopefully if I make the call he'll pick up the phone and is able to share those.

"If he has a different feeling about it then it can only strengthen the group of players. As manager, it would be wrong of me not to do it."
