Ian Bailey’s “s*** hot” legal team will examine if he has a case against a Netflix production if they use an interview he gave them.
The former journalist has sent a second letter to the team behind a new documentary which examines Sophie Toscan du Plantier’s murder nearly 25 years on.
In the correspondence seen by the Irish Mirror, Mr Bailey said he will be “seeking substantial damages in Europe and the USA” if the production refuses to delete the “offending parts” and “references” to him.
Mr Bailey insists he agreed to sit down for an interview to be used as a “teaser” and not in the documentary itself.
Last week he wrote to Lightbox Productions informing them of this and added they did not have the permission of his now former partner Jules Thomas to film on her property, before sending a second letter this week.

Sophie: A Murder In West Cork – will begin streaming today but if the interview he gave remains in it, Mr Bailey will consider suing.
He said: “I haven’t had a response. If they do use it... I’ve got a s*** hot legal team of pro-bono solicitors and barristers, the likes of which you couldn’t afford.”
Mr Bailey denies involvement in the killing.
Lightbox Productions were contacted for comment.
