Iain Stirling teases online lockdown Love Island quiz

Iain Stirling has teased Love Island fans with the promise of an extra special weekend.

Friday night lockdown will not be so blue if the Scots star is true to his word, after he took to Twitter tonight to make a suggestion.

Iain, 32, has been holed up in his London home amid the coronavirus pandemic with his other half Laura Whitmore.

The pair have been keeping fans entertained with their hilarious antics on social media, including rather a few impressive TikTok dance challenges, while comedian Iain has also been keeping followers on his Twitch gaming account occupied.

But tonight he got fans' hearts a flutter when he teased the suggestion of an online Love Island quiz for superfans, with a bit of help from impressionist and pal Luke Kempner.

Iain, who has been the voiceover man on the ITV2 reality dating show since its revival in 2015, said: "If @LukeKempner and myself do a Love Island quiz on Friday night. Is that the sort of thing folk will watch?"

Fans responded in their droves with a resounding 'yes!' so now it's over to Iain to see if he'll come good!

Luke, as regular viewers will know, is a familiar face as he's featured on the past couple of seasons of Love Island spin-off Extra Sun, where he has shown off his incredible talents at impersonating islanders.

If the quiz does go ahead, they'll follow on the back of Still Game creator and star Greg Hemphill, who hosted an online contest for superfans of the BBC Scotland sitcom. They're just the latest famous faces to use their powers for good to keep the nation upbeat amid the the coronavirus outbreak.

Iain hasn't provided any details of the sorts of questions people can expect, so until we hear the confirmation, it'll probably be best to brush up on your knowledge from the past five seasons.

This year saw the first ever winter Love Island series take place in Cape Town, South Africa, which was won by Paige Turley and Finn Tapp.

Paige, from West Lothian, was Scotland's first ever champion of the show and as we reported recently, is currently in lockdown with her new beau.
