Emotional Iain Stirling dedicates Love Island BAFTA nomination to Caroline Flack

TV favourite Iain Stirling has dedicated his Love Island BAFTA nomination to Caroline Flack.

The popular ITV reality series has been nominated for a number of gongs at the BAFTA TV Awards ceremony.

Taking to his Instagram account, the show's narrator Iain posted a screencap from the BAFTA website, showing his and his colleague's nomination for 'Entertaining Craft Team'.

Iain captioned the post: "Delighted for everyone involved in the show that we’re up for another BAFTA.

"On a personal note, to be named here and considered one of the team when all I do is talk into a microphone for a few hours has touched me more than anyone will ever know."

However, it is the final sentence that will touch many fans of the show.

Iain then finally added: "Well done Love Island! Caroline - this ones for you x".

Caroline Flack was the presenter and face of Love Island from 2015 to 2019.

Due to ongoing legal proceedings in her personal life, she was forced to step down as presenter of the show, being replaced by her friend and Stirling's partner, Laura Whitmore.

After her death, Iain paid tribute to Caroline with his voiceover on the show.

He said at the time: "We are all absolutely devastated by the tragic news that Caroline, a much-loved member of our Love Island family, has passed away.

"Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this dreadful time.

"Like many of you, right now we're all just trying to come to terms with what has happened.

"My only hope is that we are try and be kinder, always show love, and listen to one another.

"Caroline, I want to thank you for all the times we had making this show.

"You were a true friend to me. I'm gonna miss you, Caz."
