Iain Stirling brings followers to tears with poignant tribute to Caroline Flack

Iain Stirling broke his silence following the death of Caroline Flack to make a poignant tribute to his former Love Island co-star.

The 32-year-old Scottish comedian has provided voiceover work on Love Island since it’s revival in 2015 - working alongside Caroline until she took leave from the show last year.

Iain (who dates current Love Island host Laura Whitmore, 34) took to Twitter on Saturday night to share a video of Caroline from her time on Strictly Come Dancing in 2015 and offering a touching tribute to her.

The video showed Caroline dressed in white and dancing with floating reels of silk, as dance partner Pasha Kovalev, 40, spun her around.

“Today my friend slow motion walked into heaven. I will miss her always,” Iain wrote as he tweeted the video to his followers.

“Thank you for everything,” he continued - adding a kiss at the end of the statement.

Colleagues, stars, and fans of Caroline have taken to social media to pour out their affection following the tragic news she took her own life broke on Saturday afternoon.

Iain’s followers revealed his statement had touched their hearts - with many saying they had been overcome with emotion by his words.

“Out of all the tributes I’ve seen, this one made me cry. So beautifully and simply put. Thinking of yourself and everyone who was lucky enough to know her,” one devastated follower replied.

“Lovely words for such a sad day,” wrote another.

While a further fan tweeted: “Beautifully said Iain, so sad.”

Earlier on Saturday a lawyer for the Flack family confirmed that Caroline took her own life.

A family spokesperson said: "We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February.

"We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time."
