BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh home minister Narottam Mishra had to be rescued by an IAF chopper during a visit to flood-affected areas of Datia district on Wednesday afternoon.
Mishra had taken an SDRF motor boat for his survey of the submerged Kotra village. The boat reportedly got stuck in a tree and he went to a panchayat building, along with an SDRF team that was assigned to rescue nine employees, who had taken shelter on its roof. Four of them were women.
The chopper rescued the panchayat staff first and then came back to winch Mishra to safety. Datia is Mishra’s home turf.
