'I would never buy another Persimmon house' sign spotted in Niddrie

One Edinburgh homeowner has taken an unusual step to protest the quality of his new-build home in Niddrie.

A sign reading "I would never buy another Persimmon house"  was seen in Milligan Drive last week.

A comment on Facebook said: "I'm gathering they don't like the house."

It comes after housebuilder Persimmon faced criticism for a lack of fire safety features and construction issues including "wonky floors."

In Cornwall, Persimmon warned 1000 households may have been built without barriers designed to slow the spread of fire.

In Neath Port Talbot, Wales, one family said they may have to move out of their year-old Persimmon house due to a catalogue of repairs which need to be carried out.

Persimmon have said the fire barrier problem had been "identified this as an issue in its south west region" and checks were ongoing on hundreds of properties.
