’I would have followed them to the next stop’: Missouri store owner waits on package from FedEx. Then he catches them red-handed

Nearly everyone who has ordered packages online has experienced delayed or missing orders. Due to human error, mistakes can occur, and you may experience a delay in receiving your package. But what if you witnessed them skipping your location? A Missouri-based car-parts store owner calls out FedEx after catching them on camera not skipping his package.

Greg’s Tuning Operation owner Greg Adams (@gregrexadams) sits in his office.

“Let me show you this lazy [expletive] that FedEx just did,” he says.

Then, he flips his phone camera to reveal the surveillance cameras on his computer, filming the FedEx truck as it completely misses his store.

“Here comes our package. They miss our driveway. No big deal,” he states. Eventually, the truck loops around, pulls up in front of the building, and comes to a stop. Once the driver parks, the store owner focuses on her and another worker inside, where one fetches the package and the driver remains seated. “This is someone not doing their job,” he remarks.

The FedEx workers caught red-handed

“This is 100 percent clear,” Adams states, continuing to film the female driver on a handheld device, never moving from her seat.

After a few seconds, she stands up to retrieve a sticker and takes a picture of it. Finally, she grabs the note, slides open the truck doors, and places the ‘we missed you’ sticker on the store window, removes it, and heads back inside the truck, where they drive off.

“Literally, does not check the door at all. Doesn’t come in, doesn’t try to. We just heard them leave,” he says.

This prompts Adams to unveil the package tracker on his other computer screen. “‘Customer unavailable or business closed at 9:26,’” he reads off the screen. “So, they filled that out before they ever came up to the door.”

When he walks to the window where the driver temporarily left the sticker, he reads off his business hours. “‘Monday, 8 to 5.’ They were here at 9:26,” he says. “It’s just lazy.

However, Adams did take matters into his own hands. “I filed a complaint. But we aren’t getting those parts today,” he writes in the text overlay.

What did viewers say?

The video amassed 2.8 million views. Many condemned the delivery service and the employees.

“FedEx is hands down the worst,” one viewer criticized.

“And they’re paying two people to do this, what a crock of [expletive]. They should be fired,” another condemned.

“It took more time to deny delivery than to actually [deliver] the package,” a third remarked.

Meanwhile, others revealed what they would’ve done in Adams’ shoes.

“I would have followed them to the next stop and demanded my packages,” one commenter shared.

“I’d call the TV news and have them put it on the news,” a second stated.

What happened to Adams’ FedEx package?

In a follow-up video, Adams informs viewers of the aftermath.

“So, let me give an update on the whole FedEx situation,” he says. “I received my package. They came back and delivered the package.”

Furthermore, he clears the air, giving his assessment of the workers’ intentions.

“I don’t think they were trying to steal it or anything like that. I just thought someone wasn’t doing their job and it looked very deliberate,” he says.

In addition to receiving his package, someone higher up did reach out to him. “I have been reached out by management at the hub, and I’ve been reached out to by corporate management for the subcontractor, not FedEx,” he shares.

According to FedEx’s website, they hire subcontractors through their express corporations for pickup & delivery and linehaul. These businesses are contracted for a specific area. However, these businesses are responsible for their own vehicles, as well as training and hiring their own employees. Whether FedEx is responsible for Adams’ situation is unknown.

“I got some answers, some of which I don’t need to share, but I will say the information I was given made me really comfortable that they looked into it and were trying to figure out what happened,” Adams states. “They didn’t have answers but at least they looked into it.”
