‘I would definitely be interested' - Tottenham and Man Utd target Gareth Bale gives biggest hint yet on future move

Real Madrid star Gareth Bale says he'd be interested in a move to MLS.

The Wales talisman has spent the last seven years in the Spanish capital, winning trophies and plaudits during his early days on the continent.

But the last couple of seasons haven't gone so smoothly for the former Tottenham man, with injuries and a frosty relationship with boss Zinedine Zidane at the heart of his recent struggles.

The 30-year-old was on the verge of a move to China last summer before the deal broke down, with Bale frequently criticised by the Spanish media for his apparent unwillingness to embrace his surroundings.

Spurs and Manchester United have been linked with the Welsh forward in the past, but his agent and Bale himself have always stated he was happy in Madrid.

However, asked about a move to Major League Soccer in the future, Bale says he would definitely be interested.

“I really like the league,” said Bale.

“I think it’s grown so much over the years. When we come over and play them in pre-season, the games are difficult, the standard is getting a lot better. The clubs are improving, the facilities are improving, the stadiums are improving.

“I think it’s a league that’s on the up and still rising. I think a lot more players want to come over to America now and play. I would definitely be interested in it.”

Any move to the other side of the Atlantic would be complicated by Bale's astronomical wages, believed to be in the region of 30 million euros.
