'I wish I could have made you stay' - ECHO readers heartbroken at death of young mum

ECHO readers said they were heartbroken for the family, friends and young daughter of a mum who took her own life.

Chloe McDaid, 24, died of asphyxiation by self-hanging , after trying to get medical help one week before she killed herself.

The mum, from Wallasey, was found by her father at her home on July 2, 2019, after she was discharged from hospital.

Ms McDaid had told medical professionals she was suicidal and had sought help with her mental health as far back as 2011, an inquest into her death heard.

After the ECHO published the outcome of the inquest together with her family's thoughts , readers on our Facebook page offered their sympathies and posted heartwarming tributes.

Ashely Jones wrote: "Not a minute goes by I don't think about you Chloe.... You may have had your little best friend but many called you their best friend me included...

"Can't even think of anything to say right now apart from thanks mate gave me real confidence to fly high and shall do just that.

"Love you coco. Missed beyond belief."

Brian Hepworth said: "Such a sad thing to happen. RIP beautiful girl."

Paula Henderson commented: "Omg this is so heartbreaking what a beautiful young lady you were. More needs to happen for mental health. So sorry to her family and friends also her baby daughter."

Sue Bate said: "May she RIP, and my sincere condolences to the family and friends of this young lady, who unfortunately the system failed her."

Natalie Daulby wrote: "This has completely broke my heart. Mental health is a big issue to a lot of people now a days and without any help people are left not knowing what to do.
