'I will self isolate my boot up your a***' - Greg Hemphill shoots down fan's Still Game criticism

Still Game star Greg Hemphill won the internet earlier today after a social media user claimed contracting coronavirus would be funnier than the last few series of the show.

Hemphill, who plays Victor McDade in the legendary Glasgow comedy, had earlier taken to Twitter to say: "Jack and Victor would have had a field day with this s***."

Glasgow Live caught up with Still Game stars Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill ahead of their final outing as Jack and Victor

However Declan, aka @DCLN94, soon replied: "Given the last few series it would likely be funnier having coronavirus than having to watch it right enough."

As predicted, it didn't take long for the comedian to hit back, as he swiftly replied: "I will self isolate my boot up your a***" ... to a rapturous Twitter response. Cue the Still Game quotes and GIFs.

Hemphill's comment has since had almost 10k likes, as the actor, writer and director tried to pour a bit of light on the coronavirus crisis, with fans Tweeting out: "get him TELT!", "Go Greg" and "Self isolate on that, you old duffer!".

Hemphill had earlier replied to a fan claiming Jack and Victor wouldn't have survived the global pandemic, by Tweeting: "Give me peace. Thirty years of eating Boabby’s pies? There’s no better prep."

I'm sure there's plenty of us who will be digging out the old Still Game boxsets for a bit of light relief over the coming weeks.
