‘I will never understand your silence’: Ms Rachel now refuses to work with anyone who hasn’t spoken out about Gaza

Israel’s genocide in Gaza is now impossible to deny. UN health workers describe the emaciated and desperate residents as looking like “walking corpses”, with children dropping dead from starvation, “emaciated, weak and at high risk of dying if they don’t get the treatment they urgently need”.

Israel maintains the absurd lie that this famine is somehow caused by Hamas, which is insultingly stupid even by the standards of the nonsense their officials usually vomit onto credulous journalists. Anyhow, those who’ve been crusading against Israel’s crimes have had enough.

Ms Rachel, the incredibly popular children’s entertainer, has put her career on the line for Palestinian children. In April, she said:

“I care deeply for all children. Palestinian children, Israeli children, children in the US — Muslim, Jewish, Christian children — all children, in every country. Not one is excluded. think part of why people respond to the show is they feel that care – I see every child as I see my own. I love every neighbor. Any child suffering is on my heart.”

For those comments, she was accused of being funded by Hamas and referred to the Attorney General as a potential foreign agent by the pressure group StopAntisemitism. But this resistance has only hardened her views, and she’s now saying she will refuse to work with anyone who hasn’t spoken up about the Gaza genocide:

“I will always choose kindness, but I will never understand your silence.
I want people around me whose hearts break for every child –
not just when it’s convenient,
not just when it’s easy,
not just when it’s not controversial,
not just when the child looks like you or is born in an “acceptable” place.”

One day, everyone will have always been against this

When the history books are written, it’s people like Ms Rachel that’ll go down as heroes, willing to put their reputation and career on the line to stand up for what’s right. Conversely, those who whooped and hollered with homicidal joy as Israel exterminated innocent people will never be able to erase the stain on their consciences.

Sadly, this inevitable vindication won’t mean much to the tens of thousands of people who’ve already been murdered by Israel. Nor will it warm the hearts of those starving to death as you read this while ample food sits untouched in warehouses literally walking distance from the camps they’ve been herded into.

Many countries – even those who claim to be firm allies of Israel – are now saying enough is enough and putting together plans to get aid into Gaza with or without Israel’s permission. Where that ends up is anyone’s guess, but this monstrous and evil situation cannot be allowed to continue.
