'I will kick your c*** in' Gun thug who threatened man in Glasgow street jailed for 20 months

A thug who pointed a gun at a man in a city street was jailed for 20 months yesterday.

Jason Craig, 31, waved a C02-powered pistol at Darren O’Reilly in Govan, Glasgow, in January.

At the city’s sheriff court, Craig pled guilty to possession of a firearm with intent to cause Darren to believe violence would be used against him.

The court heard Craig had been drinking and was singing outside Darren’s flat.

The victim went to his window to investigate and was challenged to a fight by Craig, who shouted: “Come down and I will kick your c**t in.”

Darren confronted Craig who then reached into his waistband, took out the pistol and pointed it.

Craig then fled down and Darren dialled 999.

An armed response unit found Craig and he was arrested.

Referring to the gun, Craig’s lawyer Emma Skett told the court: “He knew fine well it didn’t work.”

Sheriff Tony Kelly said: “The court must take a dim view of this serious conduct to stop others who may minded to replicate this.”
