'I will get off my fat a**e' Mayor Joe's brutal comeback to Twitter jibe

Liverpool City Mayor Joe Anderson has issued an brutal response to a Twitter user who told him to get off his "fat ass".

Responding to a story by the Liverpool Echo about fly-tipping and overflowing bins in Hamilton Square in Wirral , it appears Twitter user Mizz Williams didn't understand the peninsula doesn't actually come under Mayor Anderson 's jurisdiction.

Liverpool UKIP election leaflet makes one BIG mistake

The story had the headline 'People are fuming about the state of Hamilton Square', to which the social media user responded: "Think Mayor Anderson needs to get off his fat ass and have a look at the vile state and sort it out!"

The tweet obviously touched a nerve with the city mayor, who was compelled into coming back with an jovial response.

His tweet said:

As well as Mayor Anderson's stern advice, Mizz Williams was also informed by plenty of other social media users it is Wirral Council, not Liverpool City Council, responsible for bin collections and environmental enforcement in Birkenhead and Hamilton Square.

This man could be jailed if he gets drunk in his home town

The story published on Wednesday morning by the ECHO revealed the state of the historic Birkenhead square had been described as "totally unacceptable" , with calls for closer enforcement from the local authority.

Wirral Council said it was aware of the issues, particularly around Douglas Street, and issued a warning to fly-tippers and those disposing of waste irresponsibly in the area.
