'I will deal with him' - Liverpool star Mohamed Salah sent warning ahead of Egypt match

Kenya defender Joash Onyango has promised that he will “deal with” Liverpool star Mohamed Salah when he faces him on international duty this week.

Salah is currently with the Egypt national team for the next round of World Cup qualifiers, and could line up against Kenya on Thursday.

The Liverpool forward is currently the club’s top scorer in all competitions this season with 25 in total, and also jointly leads the Premier League golden boot race alongside Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

For his country, Salah also boasts an impressive record with 41 goals in his 67 caps, but one Kenya defender is confident of being able to stop.

Speaking ahead of Kenya’s game against Egypt on Thursday, centre-back Onyango believes he will “keep Salah in check”.

“We all know they have arrived with their big-name players, and we all know what Salah can do, he is a good player and we have seen him win matches for Liverpool, but it will be a different ball game, I will deal with him,” Onyango told Goal.

He added: “I like to cherish such opportunities because they give me the chance to gauge my level if I am improving or I am still where I am, so I will keep Salah in check, not only Salah but any player Egypt will use to attack us, we will deal with them.”
