I went to an all you can eat buffet earlier this week - and I think I’m still full now

Liverpool welcomed the highly-anticipated buffet chain COSMO All You Can Eat World Buffet Restaurant in October 2022 - and we got to finally visit.

I was invited to the family-friendly restaurant on Manesty’s Lane in Liverpool earlier this week. As it says in the name, you can indulge and eat as much food as you want during your time at COSMO.

The restaurant ‘takes inspiration from the best five-star hotels in the world’, bringing a choice of fresh food under the same roof to raise the game in the world of buffets. The buffet offers a wide range of different cuisines so there is something for everyone.

Whether you’re wanting a hearty carvery or you’re after a taste of Asia, you can enjoy unlimited courses for £20 per adult and £2.99 for children under five. Bottomless soft drinks are priced at £3.90 and alcoholic drinks can be purchased at varied prices.

Ranging from a fresh salad and sushi bar to start, followed by a wide variety of Chinese food, Indian food, a carvery and a teppanyaki station. If you are like me and have a sweet tooth, the chocolate fountain in the dessert section will make you drool by just looking at it.

When I first walked into the restaurant, I headed up the marble stairs and was greeted with a pink blossom tree in the waiting area that resembled Japan in the spring.

While waiting to be seated, I instantly found myself having a good nose at the buffet area and thinking what food I was going to try first. The restaurant was very busy which is always a good sign, it had a very sociable feel to it.

I began my buffet experience with a pornstar martini to quench my thirst after a day at work. My first plate (of many), was filled with different types of sushi with wasabi on the side for an extra kick, edamame beans and salad. The spicy salmon rolls were delicious and I would definitely try them again.

My second trip around the buffet was filled with all things Chinese. If anything, there was too much choice. I decided to try a bowl of chicken and sweetcorn soup (with prawn crackers, of course), sweet and sour chicken with noodles, vegetable spring rolls and duck pancakes with spring onions, cucumber and hoisin sauce. This course was my favourite which took me by surprise. The best dish by far was the sweet and sour chicken.

I was saving myself for the next worldly cuisine at the buffet, Indian, my usual favourite. There was a good mix of both meat and vegetable options which is always great to see. I decided to try the chicken tikka masala, vegetable jalfrezi, pilau rice, onion bhajis and naan bread with mango chutney. I found the curries lacked a bit of flavour which disappointed me but I still enjoyed it overall.

Even though I didn’t think it was possible to eat any more food, I found extra room for dessert. I made a beeline for the chocolate fountain, which was nearly as tall as me, and covered marshmallows in the melted chocolate.

Obviously I had to try the old school ice cream machine which brought back childhood memories of the ice cream station in Pizza Hut, which I drizzled in chocolate sauce and hundreds and thousands. I ended my calorific journey off with bite sized desserts such as brownies and cheesecake.

It’s safe to say I went straight to sleep the minute I got home from COSMO.

COSMO is opening 4.30pm–9.30pm Monday to Thursday, 4.30pm - 10pm on Friday, 12pm - 10.30pm Saturday and 12pm - 9pm Sunday. You can find COSMO at 8 Manesty's Ln, Liverpool, L1 3DL.
