Finding a hairdresser who you can trust and work well with takes time. While branching out to other salons can be a positive experience - other times you're left with less than perfect hair. Our locks are often central to our identities so getting a bad haircut can be detrimental to our self esteem.
A bad hair cut can sometimes come from testing out a new hairdresser who might have less experience than others. One woman shared how her hair cut had her regretting her decision to try a random salon as her shiny locks were left choppy and "like a horse".

TikTok user @xui_fu posted her hair disaster for all to see, sharing before and after pics of her regrettable cut with the caption: "This is gonna take a long time to recover."
She shared an image of her hair "before the hairdresser," showing her long shiny locks and explained: "I just wanted to freshen up my cut".
Xui_fu then showed a picture that she claimed to have used as a reference photo which had lots of bouncy layers, framing the face. As the popular audio began to say "oh no", the screen goes black and she said: "this is what I got".
She cuts to a video of her moving her very layered, blunt cut hair, saying: "What is this please?!"
In another clip, the woman said: "When a random hairdresser makes you look like a horse" before showing off her fixed "supermodel" hair, done by her usual hairdresser.
The TikTok quickly gained traction with 997k views and hundreds of comments all weighing in on the hair fail - many calling the cut "criminal".
One person said: "I'm speechless! This feels like a freaking crime. How could they do this?" to which the original user replied: "I know right! This can destroy ones confidence for a while."
Another added: "Sorry this happened to you stylists need to be able to say something is outside of their ability."
A third joked: "At lest you didn't let them colour your hair" and Xui_fu replied: "Thankfully."
Some users shared their own hair disasters, with one saying: "omg the exact same thing happened to me..it took me a whole year to grow my hair out."
"It's a reason why I cut my own hair. Once the hairdresser cut my bangs so much, almost near roots", shared a second.
Despite the unfortunate cut, many commented that she looked great anyway and that her colour suited her.
Her follow up video was captioned: "I fixed my horrible haircut! Thank God for reliable hairdresser," with people saying how much better the second round looked.
