Lena Headey's "Game of Thrones" character once famously said, "When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die."
She was right. She just didn't know her demise would be so boring.
The 45-year-old actress admitted she was disappointed in Cersei Lannister's end, she said in an interview with The Guardian Sunday.
"I will say I wanted a better death," she told the outlet. "Obviously you dream of your death. You could go in any way on that show. So I was kind of gutted."
Headey's character was crushed to death by a collapsing building in the penultimate episode last month. She and her brother/lover Jamie, played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, died in each other's arms.
Many fans believed it to be a rather bland ending for a character who had been such a dominant force on the hit HBO show.
Headey did acknowledge that, no matter what, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss couldn't have pleased everyone.
"I think there was going to be some big comedown from the climb," she said.
Headey's comments came nearly a month after "Thrones" ended. Fans were so unhappy with the final season that more than 1.6 million signed a Change.org petition to have it rewritten by "competent writers."
As of Sunday afternoon, the number of those who signed was still growing.
