Yannick Carrasco makes transfer decision amid Arsenal links

Yannick Carrasco has once again said that he hopes to return to Europe, amid links to Arsenal.

The Gunners were believed to be in talks with the Belgian over a loan deal right up until deadline day in January when it was reported that the loan fee offered by the north London outfit was too low.

However, the Daily Express believe that 25-year-old winger, who has played in China for the last 12 months, remains a target for Arsenal, though his steep £8.8 million per year salary may prove a stumbling block.

The former Atletico Madrid winger joined the Super League side Dalian Yifang alongside Nicolas Gaitain, but still made Belgium's World Cup squad where they finished third.

He has made a promising start to the new season with seven goals in 10 appearances thus far.

Though he still has his eye on Europe.

In March he told HLN: "I would like to return to Europe."

"A lot of teams were interested. We tried to find a solution so that I could leave.

"But I also understand Dalian Yifang. It wanted me to stay."

And Carrasco has since reiterated his desire to return to Europe and might have dropped a hint that the Gunners remain interested.

"I want to go back to Europe," Carrasco told Sky Sports. "One team is interested in me but I can't say which one and in which league.

"But hopefully my team in China can help me come back to Europe."
