'I want to buy a Mercedes' - Arsenal fans angered by latest William Saliba transfer rumour

Marseille are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal loanee William Saliba on a permanent deal.

The Frenchman signed for the Gunners in a deal worth £27million in 2019 but is yet to make a senior appearance for them.

He's subsequently been loaned out three times, firstly back to Saint Etienne, then to OGC Nice and now Marseille.

He's impressed on all three of them loans and now his current club want to make him their first-choice centre-back on a regular basis.

That is according to Ekrem Konur who reports that the Ligue 1 outfit are interested in signing Saliba on a permanent deal.

It's news that's not gone down well with Arsenal fans who firstly think that he's too good to let go, and secondly, believe that Marseille won't be able to meet a realistic price for the Gunners' talented young defender.

Take a look at what's been said on social media site Reddit.

Saliba has been crucial for Jorge Sampaoli’s side and has started every Ligue 1 match since joining the club.

He's had some noticeable performances - none more so than his clean sheet against PSG, as he stopped arguably the most dangerous front three in world football in Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe from scoring.

And because he keeps performing, Arsenal fans have naturally become more and more protective of him, hence why they're so understandably frustrated by the constant links of him moving away for good.

Most want to see him return to Arsenal and thrive in red and white, but if Marseille do manage to make a more than suitable offer, Edu and the Gunners' hierarchy will have an important decision to make.
