When you pay for appliance delivery and installation, you expect to walk into a working kitchen. A Mississippi Home Depot customer, however, says his package deal delivered the boxes, a headache, and not much else.
TikTok user @user1736554374761 posted a blow-by-blow of what happened after he bought a fridge, stove, microwave, and dishwasher with installation. His clip has racked up more than 82,100 views.
‘They just left it’: what he says happened with Home Depot installers
He starts the video stepping out of his car after a call from his wife. “We had appliances delivered,” he says. The Home Depot order included a stove, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher—“all supposed to be delivered and installed.”
Then he flips the camera to the garage: an unopened box with the stove in it, and the microwave sitting on top. “Guess what’s not installed?” he says.
Back inside, he walks through the kitchen, where we can see that the only appliance that has been installed is the fridge.
“Home Depot had a package deal,” he says. “I spent 4,300 dollars—installed, delivered.” According to him, the crew was supposed to remove and replace all four appliances: “Pull out my dishwasher and replace it. Pull out my stove and replace it. Pull out my microwave and replace it.”
Instead, he says the installers tried to muscle the new dishwasher into place, bent the rear right leg, and then told his wife everything looked fine.
“They asked her to sign off,” he says. After she signed, he claims they added, “the leg’s bent—it happens in delivery. Have your husband put a shim under it.”
His wife refused: “Take it. I want a replacement.” That’s when, he says, the crew yanked the new dishwasher back out—along with the old unit they’d already removed—and left. “They just loaded them up and left,” he says.
He can’t use his kitchen sink
Now, because the old dishwasher was already plumbed into the sink drain, he says the removal left the drain line open. “I can’t hand-wash my dishes,” he says. “If water goes through there, it’s gonna drain out the pipe.”
He also points to cabinet damage. “They ripped all this off,” he says, showing torn trim. “I can’t just paint over this. I’ve got to pull this whole piece out and replace it.”
By the end of the first clip, he’s furious and headed to the store: “I want this fixed today or I want my money back. I’ll take my business to Lowe’s.”
There’s an update
After a trip to the same Home Depot where he made the purchase, he says a manager apologized and made it right. According to his follow-up, the store refunded delivery and installation and agreed to refund the dishwasher as well.
“Big shout-out to the Home Depot in Brandon, Mississippi,” he says. “They went above and beyond to rectify the situation.”
In a second update, he shows all four appliances installed—by him. The kitchen looks finished.
How Home Depot installations usually work
Home Depot contracts most appliance installs to local third-party pros. That means the experience isn’t uniform, and quality can vary depending on who shows up at the door.
Online reviews on Trustpilot reflect that split: some customers praise smooth installs and careful crews, while others complain about delays, damage, or incomplete work. The company’s overall score on TrustPilot is 1.7 out of 5.
Commenters say his anger is justified
“The most valid crash out I have ever seen,” one person wrote.
“Lowe’s and Home Depot are the worst,” another said.

“Buy local. Had a fridge go out, went and bought it from an Amish business… installed. Six months later, it went out. They came two separate times to attempt to fix it, free, gave me a loaner fridge until my fridge was fixed and redelivered for free. Best $350 fridge I’ve bought,” a commenter shared.
“My friend, Costco, Costco, Costco for all appliances. Delivered, installed, removal of old stuff, comes with manufacturer warranty and a Costco warranty. You’ll never be done wrong,” someone else wrote.
