A mum has faced a furious backlash online after asking her stepson to move out of their house and live with his mum full time, as he does not get on with her other son.
Both her and her husband have children from previous marriages and two of their own, so there are six kids who live under their roof, sharing three bedrooms between them.
The stepson shares a room with her biological son so she suggested he go to live at his mum's full time so both of them could get more space with their own rooms.
Taking to Reddit, the woman, who remained anonymous, said she is just trying to make "better use of space".
In the post, she wrote: "My 16-year-old stepson has his own bedroom at his mum's house but still splits time between each parents house mostly 50/50.
"My son lives full time with us as he doesn't have much of a relationship with his dad. My son and stepson do not get on that well and they can often be heard screaming at each other in their bedroom."
She recently suggested to live with his mum full time so both him and her son get a room all to themselves- which is an arrangement the boy's sisters have recently started.
"My stepson overreacted to my suggestion and is trying to make out like I'm kicking him out, when really I'm just thinking of a better use of space," she wrote.
"It's unfair that all the older kids but my son have their own rooms at one of their parents house. My son likes the idea and has brought it up to his stepbrother a few more times since I originally suggested it and it has caused arguments between them. He now seems to be considering it.
"My husband is angry with me for suggesting his son moving permanently to his mum's. He thinks that he and his son would have a less close relationship if this happens."
In response, many were quick to judge the woman and say she acted unreasonably.
One person wrote: "She is trying to kick the stepson out. She and her son are making it to the point that the stepson will feel uncomfortable in his own house."
While another stated: "It shows she's jealous and has an ulterior motive for asking the stepson to move out."
