An Indiana woman decides to take on a fourth job despite her already packed schedule for extra money. She explains to viewers why she chose to apply to sports restaurant Twin Peaks.
In a video posted on Sept. 22, TikToker Mac (@macydoublin) says she currently works a full-time hospital job on top of modeling and photography.
“It can get super overwhelming. But the thing I learned is just to show up. Everything else will fall into place,” she says about her busy schedule.
She says she applied to Twin Peaks with no serving experience and shares that she is preparing for her “mock day.” This involves serving the manager so that they can approve her to serve tables on her own.
Why did she apply to Twin Peaks?
Twin Peaks is a popular sports lounge chain where women servers wear revealing outfits and entertain guests.
“I’ve never worked in the service industry before. It was a little out of my comfort zone because I’m not a picky eater,” she explains. “So I don’t really care what’s on the food.”
However, she says she has learned the importance of getting an order right and making sure a guest is happy with their experience.
“I finally think I have it down. The moral of the story is to keep your head in a positive attitude,” she says. “At first I didn’t know if I could do it.”
She says she works days in the hospital and the weekend, and some weekday nights at the sports lounge.
Can you work at Twin Peaks with no serving experience?
She notes that Twin Peaks has a “very high standard” for servers.
“Not only are we servers but we’re also entertainers,” Mac says.
While the TikToker successfully scored a job at Twin Peaks with no prior food service experience, others weigh in on how difficult the process is.
“Your look is 99% what will get you that job. that said, they are very strict and you would have to sign a bunch of contracts to get in. they will basically control you. working at twin peaks, you are not a server anymore. you are essentially hired on as a model and even the smallest slip ups will cost you your job,” one Redditor on r/Waiters warns.
“They hire girls with no experience, because you are only required to serve the customers and have conversations with them,” a Glassdoor poster writes.
