A woman has packed up her stuff and left her boyfriend after living together for eight years – because he still hasn't proposed to her.
She has opened up about the heartbreaking experience online, having left her children behind while she went to stay with her parents.
The heartbroken woman, from Kenya, took to video sharing platform TikTok to lament about the relationship.
The woman, who goes by the name Mummie G on TikTok, posted a video clip of herself on the app where she was walking away with a suitcase trailing behind her.
According to the mum, they had two children together, but after eight years of waiting there was still "no ring", "dowry" or "marriage".
The caption reads: "After living together for eight years and having two kids, with no ring, no dowry, no marriage."
In Kenya, a dowry is a long-standing practice where the groom pays money to the bride's parents before marrying. It is required to prove a marriage under law.
"Separated and he took his kids to his parents. I'm going back to my parents with my clothes."
She added that she "can't wait to meet" her mum to have the "worst cry" of her life. Later she added: "[I'm] so sad, mad, sick, emotional, tired, angry, heartbroken and in denial. Can't wait to heal and share my heartbreaking story."
The woman has insinuated there could be an even more sinister part of the story. In another TikTok post, written in Swahili, she directs a message to a "sidechick," which is a term used for a woman someone dates in addition to wife or girlfriend, usually in secret.

Other social media users sympathised with the woman, with one person saying understand that the "experience hurts like hell" but that they would "never leave my child behind".
Another agreed, saying: "This is foolishness. Which woman leaves her kids?"
A third added: "My kids can never be away from me."
Others had experienced something similar, with one person commenting: "My current situation. You are not alone, I feel the pain."
A second added: "My current situation," to which the woman replied: "So sorry, it's very painful and emotional. I pray you heal fast."
A third added: "Fathers are parents too. Go home, rebuild y ourself and claims your kids legally."
