Graham Coughlan says Bristol Rovers are in for a competitive summer when it comes to recruitment.
Rovers sign off their season at home to Barnsley on Saturday and Coughlan will be sitting down with the players on Monday in order to discuss their futures.
In terms of players coming in, the Rovers boss is already in discussions with one or two.
He said: "I'm fairly proactive, I've a fair idea of what I want, what I need, what the club needs.
"Getting them will be a problem but I'm already in dialogue with one or two players. We've had a full week of it here, when the lads had a couple of days off after Fleetwood we were bang on it at the training ground, with all of our ideas and making our calls, just trying to get ourselves in the forefront of the race.
"Let's be honest, most of these clubs will want one or two of the players that I'm after because I probably have a bit of a nose for a League One player."
Coughlan says Rovers have lacked pace and physicality this season, so that is where he will be looking to improve in the summer - but he will not dismantle the squad completely.
He said: "It's been ongoing in the background and there'll be plenty of work and plenty of changes I would have thought, we won't take a wrecking ball to the football club but what we will do is make alterations as we go.
"We'll try and bring in one or two that can help us - I think we're crying out for pace and a little bit of size and dominance, so there's a couple of areas I'd certainly be looking to improve in the summer.
"Whether I can, I don't know, but they're the areas I'll be looking to do and I'll give it my best."
