After seeing her new look in the mirror at a hair salon, 23-year-old Lauryn Elisabeth was initially thrilled after going for a drastic change.
She declared herself to be "obsessed" with the transformation of her long locks after the stylist dyed her black hair a vibrant shade of orange,
However, unfortunately, her delight was short-lived.
After washing it the following day, makeup artist Lauryn realised just how frizzy and damaged it really was, with the patchy dye job already starting to fade at a rapid rate.
Although her hair "looked great curled and in natural lighting", it was a different story entirely after she washed it, with her locks "breaking off in chunks".

Taking to TikTok, Lauryn said that she'd been "bawling my eyes out the last three days", writing: "Washing my hair 24 hours or a week later doesn’t change the fact she ruined my hair. The back is over-processed and fried.
"My whole head is patchy as heck and the banding is insane. I’ve reached out to her and she’s taken no responsibility for what she did to my hair".
In a video that has since been liked more than 59.3k times, Lauryn - who goes by the username @ thelaurynelisabeth - revealed the extent of the damage, showing the stark difference between what her hair looked like fresh out of the salon, and what it looked like the following day.
Lauryn said: "My hair is breaking off in chunks. It's stringy when wet. Won't dry. And don't get me started on the blending. I'm not getting it fixed and will have to get a few more inches cut off because of the damage".
Taking to the comments section, Lauryn revealed that the hairstylist in question has since gone as far as to block her on social media rather than take any responsibility, but fortunately, she will be getting a full refund.
Many of Lauryn's followers have been left appalled by her hair horror story, with one woman writing: "I feel like she wasn’t honest about going from black to a lighter color and just went for it. There should’ve been more steps".
Another commented: "I don’t allow stylists to style my hair after a bleach. They cover mistakes with those damn curls".
