'I used to work in a passport office - these are the worst baby names I've seen'

When you become a parent, one of the first big decisions you have to make is what you're naming your newborn.

While some people choose quite traditional monikers, others opt for something more unusual.

Now, one Mumsnet user, who claims to have worked in a passport office, has shared two of the worst children's names she's ever heard.

The woman explained that whilst at work one day, she received an application for a brother and sister called Florence-Jolly and Lionheart.

She wrote: "Me and my DH [darling husband] were talking about awful baby names, and I thought I'd share.

"I used to work in a passport office - and we had an application for a brother and sister...

"She was called Florence-Jolly (yes, with the hyphen) and he was called Lionheart! LIONHEART!

"Still makes me laugh... poor love!

"Who's heard of worse?"

Unsurprisingly, her question has racked up more than 800 comments from people sharing the most bizarre names they've heard.

One person said: "Sisters called Sweety and Softy! I heard Softy changed her name later. Can't blame her."

Another wrote: "My dad wanted my sister to be called Lettice which is just way too close to lettuce."

A third commented: "My friend has convinced her [mother-in-law] that if she's having a girl she will be named Beyonanna - after Beyonce & Rhianna.

Someone else said: "I heard a child being called Dino the other day. I remember it was the name of Fred Flinstone's dog I think."
