I tried the new Hooch lime vodka and was obsessed after one sip

With spring finally upon us, we’re starting to see that glimpse of sunshine we’ve all been waiting for.

The days are getting longer and warmer, and with spring and summer, comes refreshing alcoholic beverages. Hooch has released a new addition to their flavoured spirit collection, Hooch Lime Vodka.

A brand known for its iconic Hooch lemon brew, the fizzy alcoholic drink is perfect for those warmer days with plenty of added nostalgia from the flavour. The new vodka is priced at £16 and comes in a 70cl bottle with the iconic Hooch label we all know and love.

I chose to mix mine with some lemonade and after one sip, I was blown away. Here’s what I thought about the new Hooch lime vodka.

The vodka

I’ll be honest, I was a little dubious at first about the lime flavoured vodka, as I was worried it would be sour. To look at, the bottle had the classic Hooch label, with a really bright, almost fluorescent green vodka inside.

The scent of the vodka was strong and bitter, but it still had a subtle sweet smell that was really inviting. I poured it in a class with some lemonade and ice and made sure I didn’t make it too strong.

After one sip, I was immediately obsessed. The taste was very moreish and refreshing, and was particularly pleasant because it was a nice warm spring day.

The lime flavour was definitely present, and it didn’t have that nasty after taste of vodka that I absolutely hate, which is always a bonus. It was everything that I imagined and more, and the taste of the lime was incredibly smooth and just the right amount of sweet and sour.

A little went a long way with this vodka, so I’d say you definitely get your money's worth.

The verdict

I really loved the ‘zing’ of this vodka, it was really tasty, which is quite rare to find these days, especially in vodkas. The drink is definitely a spring/summer choice, it almost reminds me of being on holiday!

As far as alcohol goes, I’m not a huge vodka drinker, but I’d definitely make an exception for this lime flavoured Hooch. It worked really well with the lemonade, and was a winning combo in my opinion.
