I tried the £6 foundation that ‘works like a magic eraser’ and it's better than Charlotte Tilbury

Cult beauty brand Revolution have really been impressing beauty lovers with its affordable products.

One particular item that has received rave reviews from shoppers is its ‘Fast Base Stick Foundation’ which supposedly works ‘like a magic eraser.’

The foundation is said to ‘melt into the skin’ to leave a fresh and dewy finish’ and people have been loving it.

I’ve been super impressed with the Revolution range before, after trying its Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter dupe. Now it was time to put the foundation stick to the test, to see if it was really worth the hype.

The look

To look at, the product's packaging didn’t exactly blow me away, it just looked like a standard stick of foundation and if anything appeared quite small. I’ve never been one to use foundation sticks in the past, so this was going to be a whole new experience for me.

Once I removed the cap I saw the foundation stick which looked pretty spot on shade wise. I couldn’t help but notice the rose gold packaging which had a slight resemblance to Charlotte Tilbury products, but perhaps that was a coincidence.

The foundation

One word, wow.

I was a little dubious with the foundation stick, but after placing one stroke on my cheek I was incredibly surprised. It glided on my face with ease and felt quite creamy, almost like a moisturiser, and was absolutely spot on shade wise considering I guessed!

(As a side note, there really weren’t many shades left on the Revolution website, so you’ll need to be quick.)

The foundation stick blended perfectly with a sponge and looked really even and dewy on my face. For someone that suffers with blemishes and patchy skin, this foundation really did work like a ‘magic eraser’.

The coverage was perfect, not too heavy, not too light, and blurred all my imperfections to the point where it appeared airbrushed.

I’ve been a big fan of the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless foundation priced at £34 and currently use it as my regular foundation, but I genuinely think I prefer this one.

It doesn’t feel cakey or sticky on the face, and gives a nice dewy glowy finish in a matter of seconds.

Another thing I noticed was the fact that my blush seemed to blend a lot better with this foundation, perhaps because it was a creamier based product.

Long story short, this foundation left my skin looking flawless in a matter of seconds, and I was gobsmacked.

The verdict

I think I just found my go to everyday foundation for the price of £6 as opposed to £34. Now I know why it’s really difficult to find this product anywhere, it’s flying off the shelves!

I loved every single thing about this foundation - granted, it doesn’t look like much packaging wise but don’t let that put you off. If you’re after a lightweight creamy foundation that gives you a flawless finish with a few strokes, this foundation is a game changer.

You can purchase the £6 Revolution Fast Base Stick from its website here , or from Boots and Superdrug . It is currently out of stock on ASOS .
