I Tried Suzuki’s New Car For 24 Hours & Consider Me A SUV Convert
I’m a busy gal, and my Saturdays are no exception.
On the weekend I’m free from my corporate shackles, meaning I can cram everything I didn’t get to do during the week into one measly day (Sundays are for rest, after all).
A typical Saturday usually involves running errands, getting some movement in, and seeing my mates, which my public transport girlies know can be a long, long day.
So, when Suzuki gave me the chance to test drive their new Fronx Hybrid for the day, I didn’t hesitate. Could I get through my day in half the time? I had to find out.
Spoiler alert: I think I found my twin flame in car form. So in the words of our lord and saviour Charli xcx, let’s ride.
Morning movement = non-negotiable
I simply cannot start my weekends without some sort of movement. Cliché? Mayhaps, but I am nothing if not a walking cliché.
On this particular day, it was a Pilates class.
Normally I’d walk to the studio, but not today. I threw my makeup bag and a change of clothes into the boot, and choofed to the studio.
After my class, I popped sneakers on and went on a cheeky walk to get my step count up. The weather in Sydney was finally Not Awful, so it was a win all ‘round.
You get an errand, and you get an errand!
Once my movement was done, it was errand time. As a strong Type A, I love a good errand run. But getting my errands done in half the time? I might like that even better.
I swung by my fave coffee shop in Surry Hills for a quick nibble with my bestie first. Normally, the parking sitch in Surry Hills gives me nervous hives, but the Fronx Hybrid was gobsmackingly easy to get into even the tightest spot, thanks to the 360 Reverse Camera.
Let me tell you: when they say it’s all angles, they mean it.
After that quaint catchup, I headed down to the shops to tick off my to-do list. I got a fresh mani, picked up some groceries, and stopped by my GP for a new prescription. Now that’s a productive Saturday done right.
The homies come first, always
No Saturday is complete without catching up with my mates. I ended up arriving at our favourite local early thanks to a couple things: my incessant punctuality due to who I am as a person, and the smooth driving of the Fronx Hybrid that made navigating traffic a breeze.
The Blind Spot Monitor goes hard when it comes to stress-free driving on peak Saturday arvo traffic. I’d actually never felt so safe on the road.
I made it to the venue in one piece (duh) and had quite the night with my besties. We love to see it.
My only issue was my phone nearly dying from the non-stop day, but then I remembered the car’s wireless charger.
I re-juiced my phone on the drive home, which meant I was able to blast some Kendrick and not be alone with my thoughts for a single second. Hallelujah.
So, what’s the verdict?
Honestly? I didn’t want to give the car back. It was such a smooth drive, and trust me: once you experience the joy of heated seats, you’ll never go back.
If you’re in the market for a brand new SUV, the Suzuki Fronx Hybrid could be a great shout. Give it a go for yourself by clicking here.
