I tried Hilton's new 'Waitographer Experience' and it's 'perfect' for 'Instagram lovers'

Fred Sirieix has partnered with Hilton to launch ‘Waitographer’ which has seen Hilton team members across the UK trained by professional photographer Roger Moukarzel.

The initiative, which launched in the UAE and Saudi Arabia at the beginning of this year, sees the highly acclaimed photographer train Hilton’s waiters and waitresses, taking them from amateur to semi-professional photographers. I was lucky enough to visit the Hilton Liverpool City Centre to try out the new experience.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the loveliest team who gave us a great introduction to the new concept of dining. Prior to this, The Hilton team will have completed training and received a certificate and badge so that hotel guests can easily identify Waitographer’s in a Hilton.

Once you've spotted your Waitographer, you can ask for their expert hand to take a photo and ensure special memories are captured perfectly. This is our favourite photo taken by staff during our dining experience- and I think they did a pretty good job.

‘Waitographer’ comes just in time, as 1.72 trillion* photographs are taken per year across the world, but half of Brits (50%) are looking to take even more snaps to capture special moments with friends and family. However, nearly two fifths (38%) of pictures captured of loved ones by waiters and waitresses are deemed ‘bad’.

Once we settled down to eat and enjoy a cocktail or two, the staff got to helping us move furniture and guiding us into position with the best setting for a photo opportunity- and we loved the whole buzz it brought to a quick lunch break and catch up.

Whist the key to a gorgeous lunch date is the food and drink- Hilton certainly exceeded our expectations with not only an extremely fast and efficient waitress, but incredible food too.

We ordered nachos, vegan cauliflower bites and Padron Peppers- it was all delicious. I really liked the lunch time menu because it offered a small bite to eat with nothing too heavy.

The verdict

This new concept would really work for parties/small events when visiting Hilton Liverpool City Centre. They have a beautiful staircase just inside the building which would get some incredible shots- which one member of staff actually told us while we took a tour.

I think experience could really take off with Liverpool's Instagram lovers and those who are just out to have a good time with family & friends. If you fancy something a little different to enjoy in the city, head to the Hilton and get this VIP treatment from their wonderful team.

Take a look at what the Hilton, Liverpool has to offer here, and visit the instagram page @tasteofhilton for more information on where else in the UK you can enjoy the experience.
