'I tried Aldi's £6 perfume that's a £110 Jo Malone dupe and it was not what I expected'

An Aldi perfume costing just £6 has been compared to a Jo Malone fragrance priced at £110.

Aldi has a range of fragrances on sale, but it’s the No.3 Pomegranate Noir Eau de Parfum that one reviewer has matched against Jo Malone’s Pomegranate Noir. With a 100ml bottle of the designer fragrance coming in at £110 online and Aldi’s version priced at £5.99, there’s definitely a bargain to be had if you’re looking for your favourite perfume on a budget.

According to Aldi's website, No.3 Pomegranate Noir has "top notes of raspberry, pomegranate, plum, rhubarb and watermelon, sumptuous middle notes of lily of the valley, jasmine, rose, pink pepper and cloves and luxurious base notes of virginia cedar, patchouli, musk and amber" that will "transport you to another world."

Here MyLondon reporter Alexandra Bullard shares in her own words which perfume came out on top:

"Let me introduce to you my new social scent wardrobe: Aldi. Yes, you read that right. The supermarket has rolled out its bespoke 'Hotel Collection' which includes candles, reed diffusers and perfumes.

"One product that caught my eye was the No.3 Pomegranate Noir Eau de Parfum. With a price tag of only £5.99, I did have my initial doubts. Was this product too good to be true?

"With dashes of pomegranate mellowed with raspberry and rhubarb, it's seductive yet subtle. After buying it I sprayed about three pumps of it on my skin to see how long it would last.

"As the day went on the smell grew richer and deeper. It also caught the attention of my mother who couldn't help but notice how similar the scent was to her Jo Malone cologne.

"She also owned exactly the same fragrance scent: Pomegranate Noir. Both of us couldn't tell the difference. To top it all off, both the bottle styles looked identical in shape and appearance. It was uncanny.

"Jo Malone price their 100ml cologne bottles at £110, while Aldi has been selling almost exactly the same product for just a fraction of the cost.

"Not only this, but if you want more even Pomegranate Noir, you're in luck. Aldi also offers large candles (£3.49), reed diffusers (£3.59), hand wash and body lotion (£2.49) all in the same smell.

"Chic and sensual, Aldi have really outdone themselves here and are the clear winner. The Aldi perfume is currently sold out online, but can be bought in supermarket retailers across the UK."
